‘Man Cave Signs’ sign up in Asheville, North Carolina

Asheville, N.C. (AP) A sign in Asheville is up in the middle of the Asheville Mountains, inviting passersby to come and visit “Man Cave,” a newly developed cave-like structure that was built in the city of Asheville.

The signs were placed in early April by the American Cave Association, which owns the land and is leasing it to the cave-making association.

The association says the signs are meant to bring awareness to the caves and its community, and are designed to encourage people to explore and get to know the cave.

The cave, located at 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) from downtown Asheville, opened in July 2018.

A local artist was chosen to design the cave’s exterior.

The caves were featured in the popular TV show “Cavemen,” which premiered on PBS in 2015.

The man cave is part of a larger project to build and rehabilitate caves in North Carolina, including in the state’s capital, Raleigh.
