Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park is a beautiful gift of nature to human being where we get a chance to see wildlife nature glory. It is situated 12 kms from SawaiMadhopur and gets its name from the Ranthambore fort situated within its boundaries . The Ranthambore National Park is situated amidst the Aravalis and the Vindhya ranges surrounded by vast tracts of desert ecology of Rajasthan . It speads over an area of 392 sq. Kms of thick forest cover with nullahs and water falls. The park has a tropical dry deciduous and tropical thorn forest type of Vegetation . Important tree species include AcociaLencolhleela , Beri , Aaam , Dhok and Flame of the forest .Rajbag ,Padamtalab and Malik talab lakes are a paradise for wildlife and are full of lotus and Nymphaeas . The Herbivorous animals include blue bull ,Sambhar , Chinkara and cheetal . Samber deer is the pride of the park and nowhere else in Asia can one see these deer during daytime. The tiger is the biggest attraction of the park .Ranthambore is considered one of the best parks in the country to see and observe the tiger.Carnivore in the park include the Leopard ,Ratel , Caracle ,Jungle cat ,Fox and Jackal.
The park has more than 300 varieties of birds . Apart from common birds like parakeets , doves , Patridges , eagles and owls ,some rare birds like the black eagles and the crested hawk eagle have also been sighted in the park . During the winter months migratory birds such as graylag goose , ruddy shelduck and pintails are also seen . Recently the Kaila Devi Sanctuary to the north-east of Ranthambore National Park and Sawai Man Singh sanctuary towards the south have been included in the park and are now a part of RanthamboreNationa Park. The park is open from October to June .
Nearest Town- Sawai Madhopur, situated on the Delhi-Bombay railway-line and also linked with Jaipur and Agra by rails.

The History of SawaiMadhopur revolves around the RanthamboreFort.It is still NOT certain who built this fort and when , but some people say that it was built in 944 A.D. The eminent ruler of the fort was RaoHamir who ruled around 1296 A.D . The fort was so strong and inaccessible that even rulers of Delhi and Agra found it a challenge .Despite this move of its ruler , it had a peaceful spell. This great fort inspires patriotism valour and love as can be seen from its remanants of inside are of historical interest namely ToranDwar , MahadeoChhatri , Samantonki Haveli , 32 pillared Chhatri , a mosque and the lord Ganeshatemble .Of these the Ganeshatemble holds a major attraction for visitors . People from all over the world come here to seek the blessing of Lord Ganesha , specially the mail sent to the Lord consisting mainly of wedding cards
